Alkyone is a Greek singer-songwriter whose music bridges indie-pop, cinematic elements, and Mediterranean and Balkan-rooted vocal textures. Raised in the mountains of northern Greece, her artistic identity is deeply informed by landscape, memory, and a lifelong dialogue between tradition and contemporary songwriting.
Classically trained in piano from a young age, she later turned toward composition and poetic songwriting, developing a sound marked by atmospheric production, lo-fi nuances, and expansive choral arrangements. Her vocal work often functions as both melody and texture, creating immersive sonic environments that feel intimate yet spacious.
Her breakthrough reinterpretation of the traditional Greek song “Xenitemena Mou Poulia” revealed her ability to translate heritage into a contemporary artistic language. Since then, she has continued to refine a distinctive voice that transcends genre boundaries.
Alkyone has performed across major European venues including Konzerthaus, Tonhalle, Carré, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, and the Onassis Foundation. In 2023, she collaborated with filmmaker Vincent Moon and was featured on La Blogothèque. Following her performance at the opening ceremony of the first Panathenea Festival in 2025, Alkyone will perform at SXSW in Austin, Texas in March 2026.
Her debut album Exit Sign (2023) marked the beginning of a distinct artistic path, while her upcoming second album Small Philosophies (2026) is set for release in late spring 2026.
Her name ‘Alkyone’, meaning “halcyon,” comes from a recurring dream in which she was a bird, a quiet symbol of freedom, hope and gentle observation.
