Mursal Hedayat MBE is the Founder and CEO of Chatterbox, an opportunity platform helping marginalised people access jobs in tech, starting with the online language learning industry. Chatterbox’s AI-powered platform matches professionals and enterprises in need of language training with professionals re-entering the job market who are able to teach them, including refugees, mothers, and older workers who have been excluded from the labour market despite their talent and potential. Mursal was inspired to create pathways into professional careers for displaced professionals after observing first-hand their vast untapped potential as a former refugee herself. She is a multi-award-winning social entrepreneur, recognised by Forbes, MIT, and the FT among others and awarded an MBE by the UK for services to social enterprise, technology and the economy.
